My Philosophy of Care
I meet each individual where they are at, taking into consideration their personal story, needs and preferences. Health is a spectrum that looks differently for each individual, and is not based on a person's appearance or identity. I use the lens of mindful eating and abide by the principles of ASDAH in working with all of my clients. I want to hear about what you are struggling with and use teamwork to identify and overcome your specific barriers to achieve your goals with your health.
I use tools that help clients connect with their inner worlds, identify the feelings and thoughts behind their health struggles. I can consider the client's specific nutrition concerns, such as lactose intolerance and come up with actionable meal planning and cooking strategy skills to implement a new nutrition guideline. And, I can work with a client on transforming their food relationship into a positive life-long connection through mindfulness practices.
About Me & My Practice
I earned a Master's in Naturopathic Nutrition in 2018. My focus included therapeutic nutrition, intuitive eating and sustainable agriculture. My formal education taught me the science of food on a cellular level and what can support certain health conditions such as autoimmune disorders, SIBO, PCOS and cancer. I found that the most influential class was on mindful eating. Since graduating I have pursued mindfulness training. I believe that all health suggestions are meant to be guiding parameters, not shackles that limit someone from experiencing a full life.
My own journey through mindful eating combined with my training to guide others through this process has transformed my life. I used to have disordered eating habits (as many of us do) and struggled with shame around food and body image. Mindful and intuitive eating practices helped me find my best relationship with food. I eat guided by how I want to feel as a whole, and not by following a diet of any sort. Our bodies are our homes and ours to experience. I'm grateful to be able to lead others to find their own Delicious Empowerment. I’d also like to note that I understand my limitation in scope and that I can only speak from my own personal embodied experience when representing my struggles with food as a white, cis-fem, queer, neurodivergent and person of privilege. I promise to do my best, provide an accountable space and help people find resources and make referrals when working with me is not the right fit.
Accessibility Considerations
I hold virtual appointments for all of my clients, which is limited if people do not have access to the internet, computer or phone.
