My Philosophy of Care
You will not find a scale or a desk separating you from the dietitian at Nurturing Nutrition and Wellness. Our education room is full of color, books, weight-inclusive seating, and space to wheel in and out! It is our belief at Nurturing Nutrition and Wellness, LLC, that all should feel welcome.
I take an active approach to one's nutrition and dig deep into history, symptoms, and conditions, considering every aspect of one's health, diet, and overall lifestyle when giving them medical nutrition therapy recommendations. I work with patients with diabetes, CVD, picky eating, constipation, stomach pain, etc., and have successfully helped hundreds of patients improve their quality of life. I am well-versed in acid reflux and food sensitivities. I am one of the few practices that offer MNT for and are directed to children and adolescents. My practice is also LGBTQ+ and disability friendly.
I also offer services for Eating Disorders & disordered eating. Being the only weight-neutral dietitian in The Rio Grande Valley with a specialty in endocrinology has given me a point of view unlike any other. I focus on lifestyle and social determinants of health when considering behavior change.
About Me & My Practice
Founded by Veronica I. Gonzalez, MPH, RDN, LD, we opened our virtual doors in the Fall of 2021. Nurturing Nutrition & Wellness, LLC, provides unique, personalized dietary services to The Rio Grande Valley residents and The Virtual Space.
I also accept most major health insurance to reach as many people as possible in the region. This includes BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Humana, Driscoll, Ambetter, Medicare, and Medicaid. Under the Affordable Care Act, you may qualify for unlimited nutrition visits at little to no cost. Allowing me to personalize the level of care and support for patients, helping them finally reach their goals. It takes the burden of cost out of the equation. I have a passion for individualizing care and focusing on a weight-inclusive practice; I believe you can have the care you need in a personable practice such as this.
Accessibility Considerations
The seating is open-seating. No scale. Wheelchair accessible into the room and into the onsite restrooms. We have an interpreter for all Spanish speakers, and those answering the phones are all bilingual (English and Spanish). We recognize the gender you share with us and also the preferred name.
