My Philosophy of Care
I chose the word “honor” to represent my practice because being a witness to people’s lives and stories as a therapist really is one of my life’s greatest honors. I have also been “the client” sitting on the other side of the couch (or screen) and I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes.
Health should be defined by each of us as individuals, and health in and of itself isn't about morality. As a mental health counselor, I am far more interested in how mental health, support systems, and oppressive systems are a part of "health" than any other piece is.
I do not shy away from hard conversations about body image- and because we have all grown up in this diet centric world, I don't blame anyone for still having parts of themselves that are "wishing" their body was different in some way. I acknowledge that this world makes it so challenging for larger bodies and fat bodies to be in this world, and I'm here for that conversation.

About Me & My Practice
My professional life is influenced by my own understanding of what it’s like to be the client seeking help. Through my teen and young adult years I had my own struggles with physical and mental health, and my relationship with food and body was a part of that. Because of this I have a deep appreciation for each individual’s unique story and I love working with teens and young adults. I know the struggle can be painful and arduous, but I believe the payoff from showing up for yourself during these years is valuable and formative.
I am described as warm, playful at times, and curious.
After beginning my career in the diet world and coming to terms with the harm I was a part of, I did a complete shift, found the non-diet eating disorder world, and have been fully HAES® since 2016. I act as an advocate for my clients as they navigate challenging healthcare dynamics (weight stigma), and I also do speaking events and education work to help spread the word about weight-neutral care.

Accessibility Considerations
My sessions are fully virtual at this time. I have a no-tolerance policy for weight stigma, and have ensured that my intake forms and anything associated with my business is fully HAES®.
My practice is embracing to all backgrounds and identities including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC. Simultaneously I recognize that it isn't me who decides whether I am a safe place for you--that is YOUR job! I am doing my best to be a safe place by: being open to feedback and learning, being a part of an anti-racism/unlearning white supremacy group, and by seeking out continuing education opportunities that align with my practice goal of being a safe place for ALL.
