My Philosophy of Care

I approach folks through an empathy and compassion, while challenging them to follow their own values. Being a Health at Every Size® provider means to me that I treat everyone with love and respect, no matter their size, shape, or health. I look at every individual as their own unique person and approach treatment that way.

Throughout my practice, I have seen too many folks in need of help, feel undeserving of care and criticized when they attend a doctors appoints. I do my best to promote equal opportunity for everyone and to make everyone feel heard and understood. As a provider, I want to make you feel validated your feelings about your body and help you to identify the changes you want to make to live out your best life.

About Me & My Practice

My experience in eating disorders as a therapist, I learned about Health at Every Size® as my work progressed in this field. Working in eating disorders for the past 10+ years, I first became interesting in this work after going through my own eating disorder recovery. Recovery led me to the direction of getting my Bachelor's degree in Culinary Nutrition, soon then after, adventuring to get my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling.

In my practice, I see folks of all body sizes, shapes, color, and identity. I have been working from a Health at Every Size® lens since before I even knew what HAES® was. My work to promote equality in treatment and care was influenced by the pressure I felt to fit into a certain societal view of thinness in my own life.

In my day to day life as a recovered person, you can find me outside hiking with my pup, running, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and avoiding diet culture at all costs.

Accessibility Considerations

As my services are completely virtual, it is fully accessable to everyone, as long as you have internet connection and a safe place to talk. I do not require any weights to be taken, unless your doctor feels it is needed (in which I will emphasize the importance of blind weights).
