My Philosophy of Care

My philosophy of care is grounded in body autonomy, fat liberation, LGBTQ+ celebration, all-foods-fit nutrition, harm reduction, community care, and an anti-oppressive, abolitionist lens. As a Health at Every Size® provider, I reject the idea that body size is a measure of health, morality, or worth. I recognize that health and eating cannot be separated from the systems people live within, including racism, anti-fatness, ableism, capitalism, and the ongoing impacts of colonialism. These forces shape access to food and healthcare, relationships with bodies, experiences of medical harm, and vulnerability to eating disorders. My work is collaborative, compassionate, trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and individualized. I specialize in eating disorders and disordered eating and also support neurodivergent people experiencing feeding and eating challenges. I draw from intuitive eating, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and harm reduction while honoring each person’s lived experience, identities, access needs, and values. Rather than imposing rigid rules or defining health for someone else, I work alongside clients to support nourishment, autonomy, body trust, and a relationship with food that supports their quality of life.

About Me & My Practice

Hi, I’m Reanna, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and owner of Rebel Nutrition, a virtual nutrition practice specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, and neurodivergent feeding concerns. I hold a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science from Saint Louis University and have over 10 years of experience specifically in eating disorder care across residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient settings. Over the course of my career, I became increasingly aware of how traditional weight-centered nutrition care can reinforce shame, disordered eating, and medical harm, which led me toward a Health at Every Size® and fat-liberation framework. My practice is intentionally weight-inclusive and affirming of people across the full spectrum of body sizes, including those in larger and superfat+ bodies who are often most impacted by medical fatphobia. I advocate for clients by challenging weight-based assumptions, helping them navigate stigmatizing healthcare experiences, collaborating with other providers, and supporting access to eating disorder treatment that does not require weight loss or body conformity. I care deeply about creating a space where people can feel believed, respected, and supported in making choices about food and healthcare without shame or coercion.

Accessibility Considerations

Rebel Nutrition is a 100% virtual practice, so there are no in-person seating, exam table, equipment, or physical building accessibility considerations. Clients participate in sessions from a private location that works for them, and I welcome conversations about accommodations that may make telehealth more accessible, including sensory, communication, processing, or neurodivergence-related needs. Weight is not used as a requirement for receiving respectful care, and routine weigh-ins are not a condition of working with me. When weight information is clinically relevant to eating disorder care, I approach it collaboratively and with attention to consent, autonomy, and the potential impact of weight stigma. My practice is gender-affirming and size-inclusive, and I work to create an environment where clients can communicate their needs, boundaries, and preferences without judgment or pressure.
