My Philosophy of Care
Hi! I help people who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, soften old patterns, and feel more at home in their bodies and their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, identity shifts, discomfort in their bodies, and the desire to build a life that feels more aligned and less constrained. People who feel deeply, think a lot, or carry the pressure to have it all figured out often feel especially understood in my work.
In therapy, I show up with warmth, curiosity, and a down to earth style. I use approaches that help you understand your inner world, connect with the different parts of yourself, and tune in to what your body might be trying to communicate. At times, we may slow down and notice what is happening in your body, and work with those sensations in ways that create more space, ease, and regulation. I also bring a body liberationist and feminist perspective, which means we look at your experiences in the context of the world around you, not as personal failings. Together, we make space for the full range of your feelings and begin to understand the patterns that shape your life. We balance insight with practical steps, so you have tools to use in real time and can begin to feel shifts both in session and out in the world. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully, without judgment or pressure to be anything other than who you are.
About Me & My Practice
I came to this work through both professional training and lived experience. Growing up fat, I was deeply impacted by the way fat bodies were treated as the problem rather than being understood within the context of an anti fat bias society. I became involved in fat liberation communities and was drawn to the ways collective care and shared language helped people survive and resist these harms. This ultimately led me to focus my doctoral dissertation on the value of fat liberation communities and how community support helps people cope with the effects of anti fat bias and systems that harm those who hold these identities. Health at Every Size gave language to what I already saw in my clients, friends, and myself. Much of my work now centers on helping people disentangle their sense of worth, safety, and identity from weight based narratives.
Accessibility Considerations
I work fully remote, which removes many physical accessibility barriers such as seating, and transportation. I strive to create a flexible and accessible telehealth environment and welcome ongoing conversation about accommodations, communication needs, or other accessibility considerations.
