My Philosophy of Care

My practice is rooted in the social justice principles of Health at Every Size ®. I work to establish rapport with my clients to understand their experiences and meet them where they are. I honor my clients’ expertise, as I support them in reconnecting and listening to what their bodies have to say. I work with clients to meet their needs, without focusing on weight, calories or other numbers. I incorporate principles of CBT, DBT, ACT, and Intuitive Eating into my work to focus on behavior change.

About Me & My Practice

Starting at a young age, I knew I wanted to help people heal their relationships with food and bodies. I grew up in a community where disordered eating and diet culture were rampant, and my interest grew from there. I studied psychology in school, and after graduating, I worked in research on disordered eating behaviors in military families. From this, I knew I wanted to be a dietitian and work to dismantle distorted messages about eating and bodies. My graduate studies focused on the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, family feeding practices, and weight bias in healthcare. Through these experiences, I’ve become passionate about helping people heal their relationships with food and bodies using an intuitive eating framework and a HAES® approach without the rigidity of diet culture. I have been supporting clients in private practice since 2020. I have attended HAES® aligned trainings, seminars led by fat folks, and participate in regular supervision. I learn most from the lived experiences of my fat clients. Some fun facts: -I love going to the library and coming home with a stack of new books. -I like to bake and cook. My favorite foods to make are chocolate chip cookies, bread bowls, and broccoli cheddar soup pies. -Before I became a dietitian, I was a babysitter, dogsitter, and camp counselor, and I try to bring that fun energy and mentorship into my work with clients. -When not seeing clients, I like to spend time with my husband and rescue dog, Finley.
