My Philosophy of Care

I believe in offering weight inclusive, fat positive and affirming, and eating disorder aware medical care to people of all shapes and sizes. I believe in healthcare that is led by the individual values of each of my patients and regularly check in with my patients to ensure I'm providing values-aligned care. I don't have a singular definition of health, but rather defer to my patients for this definition and work to support this vision with the understanding that I will never recommend or endorse diets for the purpose of weight loss. So much of health can be influenced by social injustices and trauma so understanding these topics and working to be expansive in our collective conceptualization of health and medicine is critical. I believe in collaborative and whole-person care and enjoy working with other professionals.

About Me & My Practice

As the former medical director of an acute-level medical unit for eating disorders, Dr. Gaudiani came to understand that people needed thoughtful and informed outpatient care to help prevent and treat eating disorders and disordered eating. In founding the Gaudiani Clinic, she was able to continue her learning and unlearning by connecting with a more diverse patient population along with leaders, pioneers, and members of the HAES® and fat liberation communities. With this education and experience, the Gaudiani Clinic is passionate about providing thoughtful care to people of all body sizes and helping educate other professionals, especially healthcare providers, on the importance of weight inclusive medical care and the dangers of weight stigma. By seeking out other like-minded physicians to be part of the Gaudiani Clinic team, Dr. Gaudiani was able to expand and offer virtual care in 47 states across the US.

Accessibility Considerations

The Gaudiani Clinic is located on the Rose Medical Center campus and is an accessible building with elevators and automatic doors. There are accessible bathrooms on every floor of the building, and the Gaudiani Clinic itself has two accessible, private, and gender-inclusive bathrooms. There is a bus stop at our building and free valet, garage, lot, and street parking. Our entire staff is trained on weight inclusive healthcare and advocacy and regularly participates in continuing education on this topic. Our physical space offers size-inclusive seating, including in our exam rooms, as well as size-inclusive gowns, blood pressure cuffs, and exam tables. We have designed our space to be warm and welcoming with neutral decorations. We do not report on or follow BMIs nor do we make weight or the scale a focus of care. We also offer 100% virtual care for people who are not able to travel to our physical space. The Gaudiani Clinic is an out-of-network provider and operates under a hybrid concierge model. While we do provide superbills, we require private payment for services. We are not able to provide care to individuals with Medicaid.
