My Philosophy of Care

Dr. Jen is a fat-liberationist who tries to make medicine as accessible as possible for patients of all sizes. She loves having collaborative discussions with her patients to make sure that their needs are met in the way that serves them best, especially those in multiple marginalized demographics. She loves biochemistry, particularly that of the mood chemicals (neurotransmitters) and hormones and how they play back and forth with each other. In addition, she loves to address issues of pain that have not been relieved by conventional methods. With both Softwave Tissue Regeneration Technology and Pain Reprocessing Therapy, she is building her experiences of treating both neuropathic and neuroplastic pain in ways that medical literature has documented, but is not commonly used.

About Me & My Practice

I have been in practice for 15 years, 12 years as a primary care provider. I discovered Health At Every Size for both my own wellbeing, but also to help others in larger bodies who have received less than stellar care from other physicians, especially other Naturopathic Physicians. I found my profession wildly fatphobic and wanted to change the way I approached medicine and providing care to people of every size.

Accessibility Considerations

My location is first floor, no stairs, wheelchair accessible and has an ADA compliant bathroom for all genders. I only have chairs for use that will accommodate 900 lbs or higher, blood pressure cuffs for larger arms, and a very dusty scale that can be pulled out to measure up to 700 lbs when necessary. We rarely measure weight and never routinely. We have gowns up to 5XL when needed.
