My Philosophy of Care

As a weight-neutral dietitian I want to help you find freedom from dieting. Together we can explore your relationship with food and learn body attunement. On your journey through intuitive eating and knowing your body I am an advocate for your self-care. I want to help you to find satisfaction in your eating experiences without stress or anxiety. As a Health at Every Size® practitioner, I believe in honoring your goals and respecting the wisdom of your body. I believe in size diversity and that if you are seeking health, it is not defined by your body size.

About Me & My Practice

When I first became a dietitian I thought I was helping people when I assisted in their weight loss. Unfortunately I was contributing to the problem by reinforcing the stereotype that smaller bodies were healthier/better, not to mention that low-calorie, disordered eating habits I encouraged. I cringe to think of the harm I caused. I'm so thankful for the ASDAH and the HAES@ movement. I listened to various speakers, read books, attended conferences and watched webinars that helped me reframe my views. I am committed to improving the world around me - through my work and my life - to advocate for size diversity and social justice. I will keep on learning and sharing.

Accessibility Considerations

Our counseling sessions are all virtual which allows for meeting in your home, office or other safe place. You will never be asked to weigh-in, report your weight or any other measurements. Body weight will not be discussed unless you expressly wish to do so.
