My Philosophy of Care

As a fat, queer, nonbinary therapist, I know firsthand how damaging weight stigma and body hierarchy can be—especially when it shows up in the very spaces meant to offer healing. Practicing from a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) framework is both personal and political for me. HAES® means rejecting the myth that health or worth can be measured by body size, and instead honoring the inherent dignity, autonomy, and complexity of every person. My work centers the truth that bodies of all sizes deserve respectful, evidence-based care, and that liberation from diet culture and fatphobia is a mental-health issue.

I show up with curiosity, humor, and radical acceptance. I partner with neurodivergent folks, queer and trans communities, people exploring kink or nontraditional relationships, and anyone navigating disordered eating, chronic illness, or body shame. Together we explore how systemic oppression, trauma, and internalized bias shape your relationship to your body and the world. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to support your agency, pleasure, and resilience so you can live fully in the body you have right now.

About Me & My Practice

Health at Every Size® has transformed my life. Over the past 15+ years, my own HAES® and eating-disorder recovery journey helped me embrace my fat body, break free from a life that wasn’t serving me, and step into work that actually nourishes me. I’ve been providing HAES®-aligned mental health care for fat folks—especially those in larger bodies who are often ignored or harmed by traditional systems—for over six years. I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute, and I bring a deep understanding of how fatphobia, trauma, and identity intersect to every session.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 15 years in tech and publishing, moving through roles from VP of Sales to Director of Marketing. While I was “successful,” what I loved most was listening—hearing people’s stories, figuring out what mattered to them, and helping them reach their goals. That same curiosity and strategic thinking now fuels my therapy practice, where I combine clinical skill with real-world experience to support fat clients, superfat+ clients, and anyone navigating the harm of diet culture.

My partner and I live in the East Bay with our two rescue greyhounds, Trixie and Katya, who keep life joyful and delightfully chaotic. When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me dancing with wild abandon, drumming, writing music, or throwing myself into a spirited karaoke session—because pleasure and play are part of liberation too.

Accessibility Considerations

I offer therapy both online and in person. My office is located in a building with an elevator and step-free access from the street. Inside the office there is a large couch and armless chairs to accommodate a range of body sizes and seating preferences. At this time I do not know the specific weight limit of the couch; if you have concerns or need different seating, please let me know in advance so I can provide an alternative option or work together to find what feels safest and most comfortable.
