My Philosophy of Care
The goal of all my work to provide a soft space for clients to land. The world is hard: being ND, fat, disabled/chronically ill, or in eating disorder recovery in this word is hard. Working with me will feel like taking a deep breath and being allowed to simply exist as you are. I use a gentle, low-demand approach that gives clients permission to practice being kind to themselves.
Too often people experience harm when trying to seek help and support. My work aims to close the gap between the care you've received in the past, and the care you really deserve. That's why I value client autonomy, and use trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming care.
How can I make the world softer for you today?
About Me & My Practice
I'm a late-diagnosed AuDHD adult who is also disabled and chronically ill, living a joyfully queer life in North Carolina, USA. I have a lot of experience seeking mental health support in various modalities, and I've learned firsthand what can happen if the care received isn't affirming of your identities or how your brain works. I'm deeply concerned about the prominence of medical trauma, something I have both personal and professional experience with. I started out as a hospital chaplain in 2013, and have been tending to the human heart ever since, finding ever more ways to reach people in ways that really fit -- because that was what I needed to heal in my own journey!
I have been using a HAES lens since 2020. I use evidence-based care and my extensive experience with medical advocacy to help clients navigate medical, systemic, and interpersonal weight-bias. As a birth doula I using information-sharing and advocacy to empower clients to seek the best possible pre-natal and labor care. As an individual coach, I help clients identify their needs and feel confident that they deserve accommodations and access to person-centered care that treats them as whole human beings.
In 2025 I became certified as a Body Trust (R) Specialist, and I am committed to helping make this world a safer place for all bodies.
Accessibility Considerations
I use zoom for my services, which has subtitles available. I offer neuro-affirming care, making sure strategies suggest work for your neurotype. I work with clients to understand how best they process information. My work is gender-affirming.
