My Philosophy of Care
I approach nutrition therapy with a weight-neutral lens while integrating the principles of Intuitive Eating, meaning I believe all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle, If improving your health is your goal. I believe health can be improved without focusing on your weight, body shape, or size.
I call the work I do Nutrition Therapy for a reason - I want to get to know you as a person, your goals, and your history, so I can understand how this all intertwines with your relationship with food and your body.
I am direct, compassionate, and offer non-judgmental support. I firmly believe in meeting clients where they are while fostering autonomy and trust.
About Me & My Practice
I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating and weight neutral general wellness, and I am passionate about ensuring every person has access to a realistic and sustainable version of health (with some humor and relatability sprinkled into sessions).
I fell into working with eating disorders while waiting to get into grad school and fell in love with helping others heal their relationships with food. My supervisor introduced me to HAES & Intuitive eating in my training, and I was mind blown. I had no idea about the types of conversations that we were missing when we talk about health.
I have now worked in almost all levels of care (RES, PHP, IOP, & outpatient), and continue to work toward spreading information about weight inclusive care.
During my downtime I love spending time with my senior cat Kimmy, reading, watching terrible reality TV, or brunching with friends.
I have experience treating all eating disorders (all ages and genders) - including ARFID and rumination syndrome - at the residential, PHP & IOP level of care.
Accessibility Considerations
My practice is primarily virtual. I provide the option to keep cameras off if that feels most comfortable.
