My Philosophy of Care
I have seen the way that traditional eating disorder treatment can fail clients and believe that individuals deserve care even if they are not able or ready to pursue full recovery. I believe in harm reduction and am willing to take this approach with my clients.
While I have areas of knowledge in eating disorders, nutrition and various therapy modalities, I do not view myself as “the expert” in our relationship. We both have valuable information to share with each other and ultimately it is up to you, the client, to chose what direction our work goes in.
I enjoy using principles and tools from modalities such as Intuitive Eating, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I recognize the limitations of these frameworks especially for neurodivergent individuals and those who experience multiple intersections of oppression.
I practice from the Health at Every Size® (HAES®) framework because I believe that all people are worthy of care, dignity and respect regardless of the size of their body. I reject “healthism” or the idea that individuals are solely responsible for their health and that we have to value health to be moral and good.

About Me & My Practice
I view advocacy as an important part of my work. I support my clients outside of our sessions by, for example, helping them to find best-fit providers or speaking directly to their other providers to educate and reduce harm. Fat liberation is both a personal and professional value of mine and something I seek to engage in through learning and advocacy. I trust the lived experiences of the most marginalized fat folk and participate in and learn from organizations that align with this value such as the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), RD’s for Neurodiversity and EDRDpro.
In the past couple of years, I have learned more about neurodivergence and was diagnosed with ADHD in 2022. This greater understanding of myself has been extremely impactful both in my personal life and in my practice as a dietitian. I find that individuals who identify as neurodivergent (whether “officially” diagnosed or self-identified) tend to be the best fit for my practice.
In life outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with my spouse and my dog, looking for birds in my backyard, listening to live music, walking in nature, playing board games, and listening to podcasts on my current hyperfixation. I am a dog person, but welcome all cat loving clients with open arms.

Accessibility Considerations
My practice is 100% virtual at this time. I offer sessions with HIPAA secure video and audio. I am also willing to do audio-only sessions for individuals with limited internet access or for whom audio-only sessions are preferred. There are sometimes insurance implications for doing audio-only sessions, so please speak with me if you are planning to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
