My Philosophy of Care
I am an anti-diet art therapist. In my work I offer: art an alternative method of expression; and Radically Open DBT, a new evidenced based treatment, to encourage openness and flexibility. I am a humanistic therapist with a fat liberation lens. I use a multicultural and intersectional feminist framework approach in my work with clients.
I believe health means different things for different people. It’s contextual and dependent on circumstances that are ever-changing in this world within which we all have different experiences.
I would like to support folks to come up with their own definition of what health means to them, while being aware of how injustices in our world impact a person’s body and mind.
For me health means eating consistently, getting enough sleep, spending time with people I love and moving my body in ways I enjoy. But that’s me. I don’t know what health means for you. Our work together may be figuring that out and unlearning some things. Or cultivating a sense of trust in yourself to make decisions you feel good about, instead of what society has pressured you into believing.

About Me & My Practice
I am an able-bodied white, cis woman. I am aware that my privileges have impacted my experience and understanding of the world. I recognize that my perspective is limited by my own biases. However, I am innately a curious person. I enjoy supporting my clients uncover their personal strengths, limitations, and growing edges. Often this is around identity and how one perceives themself versus how another (person, family, media, society, etc) has mislabeled and/or not seen them.
On any given day, I love spending time with my most beloved people, dancing in the kitchen, riding my bike, and walking my wee wire-haired terrier in Brooklyn.
