My Philosophy of Care

As a Health At Every Size provider and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I am passionate about helping people improve their relationships with food and their bodies. Although I have studied nutrition, I believe everyone is an expert in their own body. My work is truly client-led and I take an individualized approach to help each person meet their unique goals. Practicing from a HAES perspective is important to me because I believe health is so much more than a number. Each person's definition of health is different. With my clients, we always start with defining what health means to them instead of me trying to tell them what that means.

About Me & My Practice

Hello! My name is Megan and I'd like to take some time to share a little bit more about myself. Being a Registered Dietitian is actually a second career for me. Before this, I taught elementary school. I decided to go back to school to study nutrition because I thought I could help people become "healthier" and "eat better". Luckily, I learned about HAES and Intuitive Eating while in graduate school and I shifted my perspective before I began my work as a dietitian! I started my work as a dietitian at an eating disorder treatment center before opening up my own private practice in 2019. I have come a long way from what I initially thought I'd be doing as a dietitian. I now see my work as being alongside my clients as they are each on their unique journeys in healing their relationships with food. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my 3 young kids, my husband, and my dog. I love running along the lakefront in Chicago and baking yummy desserts (chocolate chip cookies are my favorite!).

Accessibility Considerations

My office is not fully accessibly for those with disabilities as I do have a step up to enter the office building. I do offer virtual appointments for those who may not be able to access in person appointments for any reason.
