My Philosophy of Care

I approach nutrition counseling through a Health at Every Size® and weight-inclusive lens, centered on body respect, autonomy, and client-led care. My aim is to create a non-judgmental space where individuals feel safe to explore their relationship with food and body without pressure to pursue weight loss. I integrate intuitive and mindful eating approaches and provide evidence-based nutrition counseling. I view health as a multidimensional concept shaped not only by individual choices but also by broader social factors. I strive to meet clients where they are and support them in defining health on their own terms. Practicing from a HAES® perspective means advocating for equity, inclusivity, and resisting weight stigma in all aspects of healthcare.

About Me & My Practice

I approach nutrition as a science deeply connected to lived experience. My work is guided by the belief that well-being cannot be reduced to weight, and that true health must include psychological safety, body autonomy, and liberation from diet culture. I hold a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Psychology, and completed my MSc with high honors. I worked as a lecturer and researcher in Istanbul for three years, and in 2023, received official recognition of my credentials in Germany. I am currently a PhD candidate in Nutrition Psychology at Justus Liebig University Giessen. I have been practicing from a Health at Every Size® perspective since 2024, and my entry into this field was fueled by a desire to dismantle the harm caused by weight-centric medical narratives. I am committed to creating affirming, fat-positive spaces where people of all sizes, especially those most impacted by weight stigma, can feel seen, heard, and respected. My approach is flexible, weight-inclusive, and rooted in curiosity rather than control. I support my clients in building a compassionate relationship with food, movement, and their bodies, free from shame, guilt, or restriction.

Accessibility Considerations

All of my services are currently offered virtually, allowing clients to join from wherever they feel safest and most comfortable. I do not use weight-based metrics or require weigh-ins. My approach is weight-inclusive and trauma-aware, with an emphasis on emotional and psychological safety. I strive to create a supportive space that affirms all body sizes and identities. Language support in English, and Turkish is available, and additional accommodations can be arranged upon request.
