My Philosophy of Care

I uncover your core values and motivations for the sustainable relationship you desire with food and exercise. Sometimes this means holding space for past traumas and releasing false or limiting beliefs that were given to us from society that are holding you back from your truth. Harmful thought patterns are addressed with curiosity and you shift your relationship to them through compassionate inquiry. After working with me, you will create and maintain supportive boundaries with your family, friends, coworkers & other interpersonal relationships. You will walk away understanding how your current behaviors have served you and cultivate new ways to meet those needs.

About Me & My Practice

My arrival at this line of work technically started when I spent my first year out of high school living with a host family in Peru. This experience broke the lens through which I saw the world, specifically my relationship with food. I wanted to learn more about food's role not only in sustaining our bodies but also our cultural identity and ways of life. After majoring in dietetics at the University of Vermont, I spent another year outside of the beaten path: interning on farms throughout the country to learn what it took the make the food I would one day tell people to eat. This journey brought me to gardens, community kitchens, and after school cooking clubs. After working in the community nutrition setting for nearly 5 years, I discovered the power of individual counseling and my passion for holding space for others. I received mentorship from dietitian Rebecca Stritchfield, worked as a colleague with dietitian Aaron Flores and Vaughn Darst, and have learned from other leading dietitians such as Deb Burgard, Jessica Wilson, and Fiona Sutherland, and many others.
