My Philosophy of Care

A licensed psychologist, I own StorieBrook Therapy & Consulting. We focus on sexual, gender & relational diversity, neurodiverse- & disability-affirming practice, body liberation, social justice, & trauma-informed care. I train peers on competence with marginalized populations. I’ve been featured in podcasts & conventions (Dragon*Con was memorable, Froli is a fave!), sharing the importance of destigmatizing sexual, gender and relational diversity with professional and public audiences.

We provide bespoke, collaborative & inclusive therapy services with specialty focus in sexual, gender and relational diversity. We place an emphasis on cultural humility, inclusion, affirming neurodivergence, and educating communities, trainees and other professionals.

Providing a range of services specializing in sexual, gender & relational diversity, recognizing that this is an expansive category, intersecting with all other identities and requiring deliberate opportunities for access, cultural humility on the part of providers, and bespoke collaboration with clients to meet their unique needs.

About Me & My Practice

I am a lifelong fat person, and identify as bisexual, gender-noncompliant, neuroqueer, relationship deconstructionist. A graduate of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida with Bachelors degrees in History and Psychology, I received my Masters and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. Prior to opening a private practice in Atlanta in 2007, I worked for Regis University in Denver and Georgia State University in Atlanta - providing clinical services for students in both positions.

In addition to running StorieBrook Therapy & Consulting, I teach in the Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw State University, and provide continuing education workshops for other mental health professionals, particularly in the areas of sexual, gender and relational diversity, locally and nationally. I am also a leader, and a Past-President, of my professional association - the Georgia Psychological Association.

Accessibility Considerations

Our office has free parking on a level surface, with a ramp leading to the entrance of the building. Unfortunately the interior doors are only 32" wide, however we have made as many changes as we could to increase accessibility. All chairs in the building are rated for 500+lbs, including the armless folding chairs in our community room. Therapy offices include couches/loveseats in each, as well as armchairs that are at least 22" wide in the seat. The community space bathroom has grab bars and is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair and caregiver. All of our services focus on affirming the identities of our clients. This includes providing gender affirming care, and requesting that clients & community event participants refrain from engaging in comments that further the destructive aims of the diet industrial complex.
