My Philosophy of Care

I am an anti-diet eating disorder dietitian. Through Intuitive Eating and the Health at Every Size® approach, I am here to support you in your pursuit of well-being without fad diets, restriction, or a focus on your weight. We‘ll define what health and well-being means to you (and doesn't) and focus on the behaviors and habits that can help support your goals. Along the way, I will be your biggest cheerleader and supporter as we celebrate wins and tackle any challenges. I practice evidence-based nutrition, but always combine my knowledge with your lived experience so my approach is 100% individualized.

I seek to understand my clients as a whole person and walk alongside them as we face challenges and celebrate wins together. My approach is collaborative and client-led. I promise to always bring compassion, curiosity, and non-judgement to all of our appointments. With a background in public health, I've borne witness to the systems that impact our access to participating in and receiving health care. My goal as a dietitian is to support your access to compassionate, equitable, non-stigmatizing, and individualized care.

About Me & My Practice

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion from the University of Iowa, as well as a Masters of Public Health (MPH) Nutrition from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and have completed additional supervision/trainings with a number of folks with various lived experiences that differ from my own.

As a provider with thin privilege, I have greatly benefited by learning from the work of fat activists and credit them for my ability to practice from the HAES® framework and advocate against fatphobia when coordinating care with other medical providers and consulting in public health spaces.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside, gardening and tending our fruit orchard, cooking, playing soccer, reading, spending time with family/friends, and snuggling with my dog.

Accessibility Considerations

I currently see all clients virtually via telehealth (I do not offer in-person appointments at this time). Interpreters are available upon request.
