My Philosophy of Care
I approach my work with clients from a place of care and curiosity. My hope for all my clients is to have more flexibility in the world and to live a life aligned with their values. Being a HAES® provider to me means that if clients are interested in health promoting behaviors we will focus on the behaviors. Though not all clients will or need to be interested in health.
As a clinician who focuses on behaviors with clients, HAES® is a great fit for assessing what is really important to us in our lives.
I practice from a HAES® perspective because I believe it is the most ethical and considerate way to work with folks. Additionally, as a fat person myself I know that medical settings cause harm for many folks and I hope to work against that with and for clients.

About Me & My Practice
I am a small / mid fat woman that has been practicing from a HAES® lens for 2 years. Prior to working as a therapist I was a Special Education teacher learning about HAES® in my free time :-)
Outside of work I enjoy building fat community in Chicago, playing board games, and being with my cat.
I advocate for those more impacted by medical fat phobia than myself by creating master lists of all the doctors I've seen listed as being kind to fat folks. I am currently thinking about how to support fat Chicagoans who want to become parents and thinking about community around that experience.

Accessibility Considerations
I currently meet with all clients virtually. I speak English. I currently do not have any translation or interpretation services. I meet with clients using google meets.
