My Philosophy of Care

I believe patients deserve to be supported and listened to and provided information only with their express consent. This is different from a typical medical model in that the patient is at the center of care versus the provider being seen as the expert. To me, being a Health at Every Size® provider means continuously learning in effort to reduce/stop harm towards fat folx in healthcare spaces and working actively to embrace the Health at Every Size® philosophy. This is a patient-centered approach.

About Me & My Practice

I approach my work with patients through a Health at Every Size® lens, focused on supporting patients in ways they want to be supported. Sometimes this is a harm reduction based lens that focuses on physical safety. Sometimes this is aimed towards "complete recovery" from an eating disorder (whatever that may look like for an individual), depending on patient need and desire. I work with a variety of age groups and the needs of adolescents are very different from those of older adults. I hope to listen to the needs of all and work from an evidence-based perspective that centers the patient as an expert on themselves.

Accessibility Considerations

Virtual services. EMR site that patients have access to may list weight in after visit summaries if they were to be weighed at their doctors office. I do not weigh people and provide only virtual services, use of the EMR is not required to access services.
