My Philosophy of Care

Through an evidence-based, integrative, and biopsychosocial framework, I assist clients to understand what health means to them and why. The "why" cannot be ignored. I frame all of my work in societal context and acknowledge what that means for my patients.

Being a HAES®️ provider also means that I advocate within my profession for examination and elimination of the current weight centered paradigm. I am passionate about eating disorder screening and care, especially for groups that have traditionally been under diagnosed and underserved. And, I unapologetically enjoy assisting patients divest from diet culture and trauma around their bodies.

About Me & My Practice

I provide psychiatric/mental health care to adults/teens and children from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs. I enjoy working with people who are just beginning to work on their mental health, as well as those who have more chronic or debilitating disorders. I have special interest and training in eating disorder care, ketamine therapy, LGBTQ+ health and medical trauma.

I came to this work after years within a hospital system where I saw the harms and perpetuation of weight stigma in all age groups. I now work to advocate for body affirming care both medically and psychologically. The current medical system, and society's "culture of thin" have done a lot of harm. I approach all clients with this awareness and examine the effects this has had on their lives.
