My Philosophy of Care

Here are some things I think about you: you’re super smart, completely whole, totally creative, definitely doing the best you can and a gorgeous badass. Here are some things about me: I don’t believe in the ideas of lazy or stupid– those are myths perpetuated by capitalism. I don’t think art has to be good for it to be worth making. I think babies are brilliant. I am a recovering perfectionist. I think I’m beautiful. I am here for all the feelings. My coaching approach is to be your cheerleader, challenger, and accountability buddy. I combine my experience as a certified life coach, certified intuitive eating counselor, activist, mama, and songwriter to create powerful coaching sessions that support you in leading a more aligned life. I only work with clients when we are an excellent fit for (ie we have that “we could make magic together” vibe), and happily refer to other coaches. I also coach with power in mind and am aware of my privileges as a person who is thin, white, cis, temporarily able-bodied, 30-something, and married to a man. I work with a wide range of folks including people who are: in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50, 60s, and 70s cisgender men and women, transgender men and women, and nonbinary folks Black, white, Asian, Latinx, and multiracial fat, thin, plus-size and "I don't know what size I am" Able-bodied and disabled working, middle and owning class living all over the U.S. (This is not an aspirational list; it's who I have actually worked with).

About Me & My Practice

I’m a certified professional coach, singer, songwriter, activist, and facilitator. I want to live in a world where all bodies are accepted and loved. These days, I'm pretty into my body, but I haven't always felt this way. I fluctuated throughout my life between being somewhat neutral to actively disliking and trying to control the size of my body through food and exercise. This was confusing because I grew up in a strong, political, feminist household. I knew that trying to control my body felt misaligned with the values I was raised with, but I couldn’t help it! The body-hating world around me was too powerful. Then one day, I realized I had a choice: I could continue to try to control my body forever, or I could finally let go. I chose to let go. I received excellent coaching from Isabel Foxen-Duke and Virgie Tovar and rebuilt a trusting, loving relationship with my body and with food. Choosing body acceptance felt like finally being aligned with who I am. I love ASDAH and the HAES® framework! HAES® means all people deserve access to health tools. I take a “redefining health” approach in my practice and encourage people to think about what health really means to them.

Accessibility Considerations

My practice is entirely virtual. I coach primarily by phone so that clients can take calls while lying down, walking, or doing whatever is most comfortable. I offer Zoom coaching as well, if preferred.
