My Philosophy of Care

I see each person as unique, and fully support meeting folks where they are at. My clients' are the experts on their lives, needs, and journeys. I try to develop a path of support that is tailored for each person's needs and abilities. I have specialized in treating folks with eating disorders, and I have certifications in EMDR and in Intuitive Eating. Health at Every Size® has been my guiding principle in this work, and was deeply important in my own recovery from an eating disorder. I love to help folks find well-being and resilience against weight loss culture, and find balance and purposeful living.

About Me & My Practice

A wise person once told me that every therapist becomes one due to curiosity about their own journey. I was interested in psychology since childhood, and my own journey into therapy was with a HAES® therapist. I had been fat since childhood and was bullied and belittled, and put on weight loss drugs by the age of nine. My own history has made me a fierce ally to folks marginalized by diet culture, the health care system, and other systemic injustice. My therapy led to my recovery, and eventually to my training and work as a therapist. I have worked with several eating disorders programs over the last 10 years. I now see folks in private practice.

I currently am providing services via telemedicine so the only accessibility issue is the ability to engage in video chat in English.
