My Philosophy of Care

I believe that we are all resilient creative cacti doing our best to survive our difficult circumstances and painful struggles. As a non-pathologizing humanistic-existential Gestalt therapist, I will meet you exactly where you are. I recognize that you are the expert of your own experience and that you already possess the ability and skills that will aid you in healing your pain and suffering. As your empathic witness, advocate, and guide, I will help you increase your self-awareness, self-acceptance, and sense of agency through mindful observation, personal exploration, and collaborative experimentation. Essentially, I will help you re-examine your life and re-experience yourself and others, in different as well as new meaningful and healing ways. In session with you, I greatly value, practice, and provide presence, authenticity, spaciousness, aliveness, creativity, and diversity.

I believe in each body's inherent embodied wisdom (which is different for every single body out there); that folx should not be required to pursue "health" to be deemed worthy of love, respect, & belonging; that everyone deserves the right to define how they live their life in their own body; that healing (our relationships to body & food) starts with love, compassion, acceptance, understanding, listening, honoring, respecting, & trusting ourselves & our bodies; and that trust in our own body is impacted by trauma, oppression, illness, & social constructs of gender/race/beauty/health/weight.

About Me & My Practice

My approach is mindful, intuitive, and tenderhearted.

Having an anxious tormented father and a self-sacrificing preoccupied mother molded me into a compassionate wounded healer at a very young age. Since I have lived in five different countries around the world, worked in four, and visited twenty others, my nomadic lifestyle has helped me cultivate a multicultural, introspective, adaptive, open curious mind. I am influenced and impassioned by feminist, queer, multicultural, and social justice theory and principles. As an integral holistic therapist, I allow my varied life experiences, as well as my keen interest in other modalities, to inform my work. As a result, I offer each of my clients a personalized approach that is specifically tailored to fit their unique wants and needs.

I identify as a queer, genderfluid, pan, kinky, fattie, radical, witchy warrior womxn of color and am especially drawn to working with people who identify as queer, alternative, different, weird, and/or rebellious.
