My Philosophy of Care

I support all bodies through movement rooted in self-acceptance and mind-body connection. I’m clear that I am not a weight-loss trainer, and my focus is not on changing clients' bodies. Instead, I aim to celebrate my clients and their abilities because movement is more than just exercise—it's human.

I apply a trauma-informed framework to my training, though clients do not need to have experienced trauma to benefit. This approach means being mindful of mental health and understanding the connection between mind and body. It’s about healing through movement and feeling strong, whatever strength may mean to each individual.

My clients know their bodies best, and I prioritize listening to how they’re feeling above all else. I never push them beyond their comfort zones and ensure that we’re moving to feel good. Health is deeply personal, and what’s healthy for one person may not be for another. In my work, treating each client as the unique human they are is essential.

As a Health at Every Size® provider, I believe that everyone has the right to move in ways that feel good to them. Creating comfortable spaces for all bodies is at the core of what I do. My goal is to help individuals create a relationship with movement that fits into their lives, not force them to make space for it.

My programs are never one-size-fits-all—they are fully adaptable and customized for each client. There are countless ways to move our bodies, and I honor that diversity in every program.

About Me & My Practice

I started my fitness practice in 2021 while working in corporate healthcare consulting. I saw firsthand the billions of dollars spent in a system that claims it’s helping people “live healthier” while completely missing the mark. I was first introduced to the concept of Health at Every Size® during my master’s program at Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health, as we analyzed the implicit fat bias that exists within the hospital system.

When I decided to pursue my personal training business full-time, I reimagined how fitness can support humans in living well, regardless of size or ability. It is important to me to be part of the solution, not the problem, and I’m extremely passionate about breaking down the toxic, shameful fitness environments that are exclusionary and damaging. The fitness industry polarizes movement and makes it unsafe for marginalized communities to simply exist. Movement is human, regardless of size, and it’s my mission to support these communities through services that celebrate their bodies rather than shrink them.

I have been practicing from a Health at Every Size® lens since starting this business, and it is a core component of all my programming. I have worked with bodies of all sizes, and it brings me the utmost joy when my clients begin to create a new relationship with movement, one that fuels their well-being and lives.

I live in Rochester, NY, with my husband and children. I love to garden and be outside as much as I can.

Accessibility Considerations

I offer personalized fitness and breathwork programs to clients in-person and virtually, without requiring new equipment. Each program is designed based on what I have in my studio or what the client has. Every session is tailored to the individual’s movement style, ensuring that no two programs are the same. My priority is to make exercises accessible and never place clients in uncomfortable or unsafe positions.

In-person sessions are held at my home studio in Rochester, NY, or I travel to clients’ locations. My studio is on the main floor with no stairs. It’s a quiet, well-lit space with plenty of natural light. Clients are welcome to bring any support they need, such as aids, translators, or general assistance. I also have benches and chairs available if standing is difficult. When I travel, the same support is encouraged, and I bring any necessary equipment.

For virtual sessions, I use platforms like Google Meet or Zoom, which I schedule for clients. Sessions can take place anywhere in the client’s space. I’m adaptable to different setups as long as I can see my client on screen. If there are issues like poor internet or limited device access, I recommend asynchronous programming as an alternative.

My goal is to meet every client where they are, ensuring a supportive and accessible environment. I’m committed to creating a space where clients feel safe and confident in their movement journey.
