My Philosophy of Care

My specialties include Eating Disorders, Parent coaching, Trauma, and Family of Origin Wounds. I use a core attachment theory that just as relationships can harm, they can heal as well. Drawing on evidenced based, holistic therapies such as, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Narrative, I gently comes alongside individuals on their healing path. I am a Certified Body Trust® Provider, a Certified Invitation to Change Provider, and have completed The Allender Center Level 1 and Level 2 Training Certificate Program which is focused on engaging stories of trauma. I incorporate these powerful and healing modalities in my work.

About Me & My Practice

I have been coming alongside those with Eating Disorders for 27 years, a dietitian for 25 years, and a therapist for 7 years. I learned about Health at Every Size® in 2009 and shifted my practice from there. Since then, I have sought out learning platforms such as The Center for Body Trust, EDRDPro, ASDAH conferences etc. I seek continuous learning and growing and ways to better support my clients and advocate on their behalf. My passion is to help individuals connect to their internal wisdom and develop their ‘sense of self’ with food. Just as we each have our own unique fingerprint, we have our own taste preferences, nutritional needs and body cues. As we embrace the way we were made and explore our needs, we ultimately find peace with food and respect for our bodies. And as this peace and respect replaces fear and guilt, our true (best) self emerges. I am passionate about walking with clients on this treacherous but highly rewarding path. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and a Certified Body Trust® Provider, I practice from a weight inclusive paradigm, encompassing Body Trust®, Health at Every Size®, and Intuitive Eating principles. As a Certified Invitation to Change Provider, I also empower parents to come alongside their kids in ways that promote readiness to change.

Accessibility Considerations

I practice virtually, therefore clients are able to be in the comfort of their own home. When I had an office, it had wheelchair access, and chairs without arms to provide adequate seating for all sizes. Also, in my home office, I have a sign that states this is a body shame free zone that clients can see behind me.
