My Philosophy of Care

To me, the therapeutic relationship is the number one predictor in successful therapy outcomes. I approach therapy collaboratively from the first intake session and treatment plan goal setting, to the last session of reflection and closure.

I practice from a Health At Every Size® perspective because in addition to the research being present, this view also works for me personally. In addition, I try to always center my client as far as their needs for advocacy and/or health equity needs. I am quick to connect the client's other providers (with their permission of course) to advocate for the client's needs or to educate on HAES® if needed.

About Me & My Practice

I have been a mental health therapist in practice for 11 years. In addition, I have specialized in disordered eating for around 7 years. During that time my knowledge and training has developed to where I am today. I focus on constant training to become more equitable, inclusive, and aware of my own issues within the medical system in order to best advocate for my clients.

As far as myself-- I am prone to a well placed F bomb and pop culture references, and use humor in the appropriate situations, both in and out of the therapy session. I'm a mid-fat woman who is constantly on the lookout for inclusive medical providers for myself, which benefits my clients as well. Finally, I can likely be found being distracted by my own brain, crafting, or reading, sometimes all at the same time.

Accessibility Considerations

I work via telehealth so I am able to offer services where my clients are most comfortable, whether that be in their home or another safe, private place.
