My Philosophy of Care

I have chosen to limit my services to a fairly narrow scope to be able to provide truly specialized care in the symptoms & conditions related to hormonal impact on physical & psychological health. In our society, medicine often creates an arbitrary boundary between general medical & psychological health care. In my practice, I work to bridge this gap in the care of women who are struggling with hormonally-mediated conditions which often present with a combination of both physical and mental symptoms. I provide care in a truly integrative approach, offering the best of both integrative evidenced-based treatments depending on patient preferences, goals, risk factors, & severity of symptoms.

About Me & My Practice

I (she/her) worked for several years in the field of community mental health before relocating to the Pacific NW for medical school. I am a graduate of Bastyr University and completed a 2-year post-graduate training program in integrative women’s health. I am credentialed by NAMS as a certified menopause practitioner, and PSI in perinatal mood & anxiety disorders as a prescriber: the only physician to have this combination of education & training. In fact, I am the only naturopathic physician in the state of AZ to be certified as a women’s health specialist. I have been in clinical practice since 2003 with a special focus on women’s health; emphasizing nutrition and exercise in health maintenance and disease prevention and treatment. I am committed to the mental and physical health of women of all ages and I believe that our goal for health & wellness is a matter of progress, not perfection. Education and empowerment can help us take a proactive, preventive approach to the treatment of any condition. With an emphasis on physical health and mental wellbeing in preconception, prenatal, postpartum, and post-childbearing, my goal is for all women to flourish throughout their reproductive years & beyond.

Accessibility Considerations

I am not currently set up to provide care to non-English speakers, those with hearing or visual challenges, but I can be sure to refer them to someone who can provide such care
