My Philosophy of Care

I approach care with clients through a lens of social justice and intersectionality. I bring curiosity and compassion to my work, exploring client's lived experience with the understanding that healing is not individual, but collective and systemic. We will hold together the nuance of your lived experience, exploring the intersection of systems of oppression and work toward liberation, together. I hold that ways of coping with oppression (eating disorder behaviors, substance use, and others) can be wise and effective, but often cause harm over time. I believe in harm reduction, and centering client needs, desires, and goals.

About Me & My Practice

I am a white, neurodivergent (AuDHD), nonbinary fat femme. I came to my experience with HAES through my own eating disorder treatment and experiences of living and recovering to a fat body. I am a body liberation, health at every size advocate in all areas of my life, and have specifically engaged with advocacy work in the anti-fat biased medical system. I specialize in co-occurring eating disorders and substance use disorders, as I have lived experience with both in addition to specialty training. I have been a substance use disorder professional since 2014, and graduated with a master's of arts in co-occurring disorders in 2022. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my partner, family of choice, our pets, outside in the PNW, finding time for play and joyful movement.
