My Philosophy of Care

I understand that the first step in reaching out for help and embarking on the journey of self-discovery, acceptance, healing and transforming can be quite difficult for some, which is why establishing a caring therapeutic relationship where both parties feel connected is of the upmost importance. I am a Health At Every Size®-aligned, trauma informed, clinical social work therapist working with women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, complex trauma related symptoms, challenging relationships with food and body, and other common mental health concerns. I use a compassionate, client centered, strengths-based approach, honoring that the client knows best for themselves and aiding them in the process of learning and exploring exactly what that is. I use an eclectic blend of approaches to create space for exploring roots of pain and suffering, developing awareness, prioritization, compassion, care, and trust of oneself, and embarking on reclaiming personal strength and empowerment. I am also committed to learning about the many systems of oppression that negatively impact so many and bringing that awareness to this important work.

About Me & My Practice

Hello, my name is Linda and I am a clinical social work therapist working with adult women. I have come into this work using a HAES framework due to my own personal experiences and my commitment to social justice. I have found incredible healing and freedom from adopting a HAES perspective in my own life and find it to be a necessity in all helping professions to ensure that all bodies are receiving the care and support they deserve and need free from judgement, stigma, shame, etc. I bring my own lived experience to this work of supporting others to navigate these oppressive systems. Outside of work you can find me enjoying and tending to my plants and flowers, cooking, being in nature, engaging in joyful movement, and being anywhere near water. I love animals, but especially love cats!

Accessibility Considerations

At this time the practice is mostly virtual sessions. However, there is some possibility for in person sessions at our first floor office space with a waiting room furnished with a couch, and an office also furnished with a couch.
