My Philosophy of Care

As your provider, I seek to inspire a positive change in how you relate to food and your body. Trusting your body’s wisdom and letting it guide your choices with food takes courage and willingness to sit in the messy middle. If you’re ready to embrace the edge of your comfort zone and find lasting transformation, I’m GAME. I believe the most effective approach to health is one that accounts for your unique experiences and perspectives. YOU are the expert in your own experience. It’s important to me that you have the opportunity to be heard and cared for in a judgment-free zone during therapy. So, although I will never endorse intentional weight loss recommendations, I value body sovereignty and body autonomy. You ultimately get to choose what you do with your body and I leave plenty of space to taco ‘bout it. (I do love a pun!). In our work together, you’ll discover how to honor, care for, and respect your body. I’ll challenge you to stop asking yourself, “what’s wrong with ME?” and instead encourage you to ask, “how and where have systems of oppression created and perpetuated my body shame and hatred?” You’ll learn to let go of self-blame, and develop compassion and understanding toward the distressing behaviors that have been so difficult to change. Fighting food will no longer be a thing, because food will just be food. Deprivation will no longer be center-stage. Instead, you’ll experience pleasure and satisfaction from eating the foods you love—without all the guilt.

About Me & My Practice

I’m a Body Trust provider-in-training, and have exclusively worked as a Health At Every Size ® dietitian. I care deeply about our relationship, and aim to guide you back toward embodying the confident person you are. Much of my experience is in working with eating disorders. I love supporting folks who may not be formally diagnosed with an eating disorder, but have struggled with their relationship to food and their body for decades. I’m your teammate, so I don’t just talk “the talk.” Though I’ll make mistakes, I walk “the walk” and take uncomfortable risks alongside you. This includes identifying my privileges, and learning how to best support those without the same privileges. It means holding space for you to process painful weight discrimination. It also means educating your healthcare team about the harm caused when prescribing weight biased treatment, then advocating for weight-neutral interventions instead. Outside of work, you’ll find me hanging with my pup, drinking rosé with friends, and laughing at my own jokes.

Accessibility Considerations

My services are currently available through telehealth. This improves access to services for people living outside of my home state of Washington, but does require a reliable internet connection and a private space.
