My Philosophy of Care
Are you someone who experiences non-conforming gender, a non-conforming body, or a non-conforming lifestyle? I can offer understanding, support, and guidance towards embracing your most authentic self.
I apply a HAES® lens to all work I do with clients. HAES® has been life-changing to both me in my personal journey, and to my clients. No matter where you are in your journey of body liberation--whether you are just beginning, or you have spent years unpacking fatphobia, ableism, or healthism--I can help.
About Me & My Practice
I've been practicing from a HAES® lens since 2015, after incorporating HAES® into my own personal growth journey. I'm so appreciative that ASDAH has incorporated concepts of intersectional body liberation into its principles. So often, messages from systems of oppression are internalized, and I help people on their path of healing from that trauma. I aim for intersectionality in my work with clients, but I recognize I don't walk in anyone else's shoes. My learning is ongoing, through a variety of sources, including conversations with members of my community, books, podcasts, and social media of those who experience oppression. I try to always be learning, and always listening and adapting.
Accessibility Considerations
I meet with clients via teletherapy through a HIPAA-compliant platform. I find this has been especially helpful for my neurodivergent and disabled clients, so they can meet with me without traveling anywhere.
