My Philosophy of Care

I take a slow-and-steady approach in my work with nutrition counseling clients using the Health at Every Size® Framework of Care. We are fierce advocates of anti-biased healthcare, body autonomy and fat liberation while also providing a safe space for clients to share about their experiences with weight stigma as well as pressure and desire to lose weight.

When you work with me, you are in the driver’s seat, with me alongside you to provide the level of guidance and support that works best for you. You are the expert of your body. I love helping clients re-connect with their bodies, cultivate a peaceful relationship with food, and learn to nourish and care for themselves through self-exploration and self-compassion.

In addition to being a registered dietitian, I am also a certified Befriending Your Body Teacher and love helping clients connect their bodies as they feel safe and able, to help them build interoceptive awareness and nervous system regulation skills as they work on healing their relationship with food and body.

About Me & My Practice

My practice is rooted firmly in consistent anti-oppression meaning we see the link between all forms of oppression and advocate for dismantling them all. We believe in collective liberation and that every body is deserving of respect and autonomy. As such, we include ethical veganism within our values of anti-oppression and we have a sub-specialty in vegan nutrition. However, we don't only work with vegans and we never pressure anyone to pursue a vegan lifestyle. We do not bring up veganism with our clients unless they express an interest. Our primary focus and clientele is general weight-inclusive, anti-diet nutrition counseling.

I have been a dietitian since 2013 and have been practicing from a Health at Every Size® lens since 2016.

When I’m not working, I love to play with my kids, practice yoga, cuddle with my cats, go for walks in my neighborhood, cook yummy food, try my hand at vegetable gardening, visit with friends and family, read (from my never-ending stack of nutrition and social justice books or a fiction book from the library!), and travel to beautiful destinations with my husband for hiking and camping.

Accessibility Considerations

We are a fully virtual practice so that you may participate in session wherever you are most physically comfortable and safe, as long as you have an internet connection. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that offers captions if needed.

I own this practice and so it is entirely fat-positive and we do not adhere to weight-centric or racist guidelines or recommendations.
