My Philosophy of Care

I believe that it is possible to live your best fat life, with and in the body you currently have. With that as my foundation, I apply my 4-Step Framework for Body Liberation to educate my clients about the systems of oppression that affect how they view themselves and others, help them reframe the stories they have been told about their bodies, guide them in finding self care and resilience building practices, and assist them in developing skills to advocate for themselves as they navigate an oppressive world. I like to focus on the lived experience of my clients, journeying with them to find their true selves outside of conditioning. Drawing upon my own lived experience, practicing radical kindness and consent, being wholly human, and modeling vulnerability, I endeavor to provide them a compassionate space where we can dive deeply into the "whys" and "hows" of their bodily experience, ultimately helping them to find practical and accessible ways for them to move through the world more fully and freely themselves.

About Me & My Practice

I came to this work through questioning what I was being taught as a fat person learning to be a Health Coach. So much of what I was experiencing just didn't jive with the messages that I was receiving, and it only got worse when I began to practice in that healthist model. The discordance between what I knew in my body and what I was taught was the catalyst that led me to discover HAES(r). I've been fat my entire life and have been spending my time in the online business world unlearning the harmful lessons that kept me believing that my body was wrong, that I have to perform a certain way to be successful, and that there is a type of person who has all the answers. Everything that I learn, unlearn, and discover gets folded into my work so that I can continue to blaze a trail towards liberation for those who come after me. And all this trailblazing is extremely important since I am the parent of a 7-year-old small person with a love of space, Minecraft, and art (all lovely interests we share). I'm working to build a better world by breaking the cycles of harm that got us into this mess because I have hope for the future.

Accessibility Considerations

All of my offerings are virtual, so I do my best to provide image descriptions, closed captioning, and transcription where I can. Generally, I use Zoom for live calls and coaching, but am welcoming of folks who would like to participate without sharing video or audio. Additionally, I ask about access needs during all client onboarding processes and at the beginning of calls since change is constant. Since I am an alternative provider and do not take insurance, I try to be as financially accessible as possible through the use of pricing tiers that do not impact the level of or access to services I offer.
